[Gllug] Getting an IP address at a public WiFi point

It turned out to belong to my next door neighbour, who happily let me
try to connect to it.  It worked absolutely no problem.

I wonder what one needs to do to find one which *doesn't* work (apart
from being in a position where it's the only thing available for quite a
few hours)?
