I had a work Thinkpad a while back (a T41, I think), fantastic machine,
amazing build quality too, if I remember correctly.

That, and my old Compaq Armada m700. Fond memories!

Awesome bits of kits, and the support puts Apple to shame.  If you need
a notebook, rather than a netbook, I'd go for a ThinkPad every time.
