Reasonably cheap, TI OMAP-based bare board (ARM core running at
433 MHz FSB), 128 MB RAM and 256 MB of flash.  As you can see from the
demo, it has good enough 3D[*] and can drive a monitor at standard
resolutions.

I'm relatively tempted to do something which I've wanted to do for a
very long time -- build a home cluster out of these.  You could have
an 8 node cluster for around 800 quid.

[*] Unfortunately based on PowerVR -- last time I looked, which was a
few years ago, there were no open source drivers for this.  Hopefully
this has changed.
