I'm still writing RISC code almost every day - the Microchip PIC
processors use their own slightly peculiar and highly specific RISC
architecture, and in many cases are the ideal solution for applications
that would often use the usual bucket of discrete logic chips or a PLC.
They are amazingly cheap for their abilities, and are a doddle to
program.
