Well, Foxconn isn't exactly a premium brand, and that board is rather  
cheap. The "and nasty" on the end of "cheap" can be assumed when it  
comes to Foxconn.

Since your friend is spurning all of your reasonable attempts to fix  
the problem, now is the time to walk away and leave him to fester in  
the misery of his own making.
