[Gllug] sendmail issue

I used to have one server on my network picking up mail for my (this)
domain and then routing it through to the main mail server where it was
passed through a spamassassin milter and then dumped in the appropriate
user directory. This (main) server also used fetchmail to get mail from
older accounts and also filtered them
Now I have centralised all this on the one server and it is working
reasonably well, except that it seems to pass all the mail through the
milter twice, meaning spamassassin has become a pain (mails seem to get
arbitrarily bumped up and down on scores on the second pass).
I just cannot see where I have configured this wrongly nor has a trawl
through the bat book helped.
So I am essentially in search of a clue. Any ideas as to where I should
look for the configuration error? (Please don't say it is using sendmail
in the first place - not big, not clever :))
