While I think that socket might still be there on some (it's not on my
year-ish old one, but it is on my boss's year-and-a-fair-bit-old one) it
does double up as a normal USB socket, and the laptop does work with USB
CD-ROM drives, so it's a bit of a non-issue really.

No moreso than any other laptop, unless I'm missing something? Sure, the
mains lead into the transformer is proprietary, but it's also not
designed to be taken apart and has one of the better cable-storage
systems I've seen. In fact, the chargers are one of the things I quite
like about the Dells.

The quality of laptop cases in general is pretty poor in my opinion. But
my treatment of laptops is _very_ poor in the opinion of most other people.
> - Support for private Customer exeptionally bad
This used to be very true, and is still the opinion I hold of Dell, but
I've heard an awful lot to counter this recently. Lots and lots of
people very happy with Dell's private customer support. Like I say, I've
not used it myself in a long time, but I'm seeing reason to at the very
least hold that opinion with less confidence.

How many should there be?
