[Gllug] Graphics card recommendations wanted

This is a perfect example of a self fulfilling prophecy.  If you avoid it because
they seem to be having financial difficulties... they will have further financial
difficulties.  Even if Nvidia "goes down" I expect they will be purchased,
probably / possibly by Intel.  Also, with the cost of video cards falling all the
time, buying one of their cards and getting it working under X correctly, even
using proprietary drivers, means that it should continue to function for at least
the next year or two at which time, purchasing an equivalent or better card will
cost you couch change.

Find what you need today in either company based on budget, features, bundle,
performance, and personal preference.
