With the greatest possible respect, bollocks.

John's not suggesting anything of the sort.  He is, rightly, saying
that before "spouting off" - in this case accusing someone of breaking
the list rules, do some research to back up your claim.  Had this been
done (or indeed had an ounce of common sense been applied), then there
would have been no need for this conversation.
