Similarly, I've seen companies bugger up a Linux installations (one film
distributor managed to leave their cheap EV1 server online with an obsolete
distro, telnet wide open, and advertising ports and version numbers of their
services as if to say 'deface me').
While I very much dislike all this OS snobbery business, I personally don't
particularly like Linux as a desktop operating system, preferring to choose
OS X or even Windows 7 above it in terms of usability (which IMHO is a
personal preference anyway). Besides, if we're talking security, OS X can
be attacked easily enough if you're not paying attention - I've seen at
least several examples of compromised machines after the users have
unwittingly granted malware access by giving it elevated permission.
