Apologies for the horrible link, but according to this[1] document, only
POWER hardware is supported? AFAIK the only version of AIX that has ever
run on x86 without emulation was an old version of 3.x that ran on a
limited set of IBM MCA machines in the early 90s.

Of course, it may be possible to get it working on x86 via a virtualization
product that emulated POWER hardware...
