I want to test 1000/Mbps throughput between a Mac OS X 10.6 box and a Fedora 12 box over a Netgear GS105 switch. The problem is mainly with the OS X box where the ethernet socket has only a single red light lit on the left side yet at the switch the other end of the cable connects with both lights green which suggests a full gigabit connection. Software preferences > Network has the Ethernet set to 1000baseT/full duplex/1500 MTU so both lights on the ethernet socket should be green.

Any recommended software for testing this gigabit LAN connection from the Fedora 12 box?
