I don't really know the answer, but I do have one suggestion.

It could well be some sort of bug in korgac (there are *plenty* of
bugs in the KDE 4.x releases). And (if this is the case) it's possible
that this bug may have been fixed in a later release.

Are you using a distribution that makes installing KDE 4.4
easy/possible?

Not much of a solution, but it might be worth a go...
