John, at the risk of being rude, you can.
Log into a text mode terminal as root. 9Press Ctrl-Alt-F1 or F2 etc.)
At the command prompt type  yast2
You get a cursor-driven version of yast.
The not-so-secret sauce is to use the Tab key to flick between menu options.
