I have local mirrors of things that interest me, partly so that I don't have
to wait to install (ie local network rather than broadband), and also because
there is more than one machine that uses it. True I download stuff that never gets
used, but I still think that it is worth it.

I also have my own repos, mainly of stuff that I have written, it is easier to
keep my & customers' machine up to date by just putting something up into the
repo and have it auto update.

Would I pay for such a service: no. It isn't hard to do and if I do it myself
I have complete control.
