OK, lateral thinking time. You could use one of these instead as a...

* keycode entry pad for an intimidating driveway gate / front door;
* bubblewrap substitute for those infuriating people who like to pop t;
* sound/vibration damper underneath a turntable (or another keyboard ;-)
* flyswatter (might not get the flies but would make a satisfying 'thwap' sound;

... or, well, maybe not.
