I would second the recommendation for dbish. I used it very happily in an
environment which had SQL Server, MySQL and Postrgres deployed in
different areas. One shell to rule them all, as long as there's a DBD
package for your DB.
That said, I haven't used it for some years and there were grumblings
about lack of support since then, so I can't vouch for the current state
of the project.
