I'm afraid that there's little chance of getting anything that'll work
wirelessly. You could try power-line adaptors, but I've had some very
variable results with them.
Your only real solution is to run some Cat 5 cable up the building.
I ran Cat 5 up a six storey building recently - the cable was run inside
the cavity wall and under some floorboards, so was concealed for most of
its length. The whole job cost about £30 in parts, which included the
cable and the sockets for each end. We've since installed additional
sockets so that the laptops can be used in several rooms.
