Yes, I've used Xara and indeed Xara LX/Xara Xtreme (the Linux
version). But while it's a capable package, it's designed for
illustration rather than typesetting, and is more comparable to
Inkscape in that regard. Sadly, it seems to be a dead project now,
mostly due to the lack of adoption by the Linux community, which in
turn is almost certainly because they only opensourced 90% of it.
