I can assure you that they're only "special" in the same way that
"special" schools are "special"!  

The lack of fundamental engineering skills is mind boggling (like an
ability to operate or interpret the readings from a multimeter, or an
ability to solder or even make firm connections to terminals).

BT's inability to even run a pair of wires from one place to another
never fails to astonish me.
