I've done that: as of last year, whenever there's rain or snow I start
getting hundreds of line drops. BT say there is no fault and refuse to
fix anything without sending around a *special* engineer, who, if no
fault is found, will hit me with a nice big charge on the assumption
that the fault is in my house (despite the fact that my neighbour can
hear the crackling as well, as can people down the street).

Note that this is an *intermittent* fault.

Nice racket, BT.

I don't have the kind of money it would take to pay for BT's sodding
special engineers.
