Lots of fun!

However once you have exposed their faulty understanding, or more likely 
the parroting of something their *expert* mate seemed to say down at the 
pub last night; you 'fight back' by smoothly presenting 'your way' at 
their own level - management-speak not tech-speak. Once they've 
understood that they didn't understand, they will either fire you for 
suspected incompetence or pay attention, and if they're hearing 
high-level stuff and how it will *achieve* what they want, they'll 
(hopefully) leave the (grimy) detail to you...
(ok, maybe dreams are free - but then so is Linux!)
