Why. Why, why, why in the blue blazes did I just tell this list that
an NFS mount just sits there and does Fanny Adams,
then go an create mountpoints and NFS entries in /etc/fstab and REBOOT
THIS MACHINE. Why?

That's the big drawback of virtual machines - exactly how does one
give a VM a damn good Basil Fawlty style thrashing?
