This is not a public unmoderated newsnet group and it seems to me that
the administrator can reasonably do whatever he or she thinks is within
the administrator's remit.  This conventionally includes bumping people
off the subscription list who are persistently rude and objectionable,
for example.

My regret is that the thread in question had the makings of a classic.
But maybe I was enjoying it too much; and the more recent sibling mutant
threads have now over-egged it, so they have become boring.  Boring is
even worse than rude and objectionable.
