If i understand you correctly - Follow this for a fedora distro.
There are five types of fonts which falls in category of Desktop
Fonts. These are Application Font, Document Fonts, Desktop Fonts,
Windows Title Fonts and Fixed Width Fonts.
1) Download the font
2) System ---> Preferences ---> Look and Feel ---> Appearance. Change
to whatever font you want. Click OK
That should change the default font on the system.
Applications:
Remove any additional software that you don't need.
What else do you need???
