In a recent interview, a chap from the beeb praised
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Splunk, looks like a good starting point
if you start following the links from the wikipedia page. I'd seen the
ads and occasional mentions previously but a personal recommendation
means I really need to start looking at it :)
