Quite. The problem here was not RPM. The problem here was that RH is not
a rolling-update distribution, so you have to do periodic wipe-and-
reinstall giant flag days.

And periodic wipe-and-reinstall giant flag days are *so* not what I want
on the virtual machine that connects me to $work.

Oh, yes, that gorgeous CLM, I remember that. (Weren't there even
pro-forma denials that this bug was actually the reason for the
departure? Normally there would be. If they didn't even see fit to deny
it, well, oh dear.)

With Ulrich Drepper's departure I'm not sure there are any epically
hard-to-work-with people left at RH. (Though Uli is *far* more clued-up
than Jeff ever was -- he just has no understanding of little things like
social glue, common courtesy, or, I sometimes think, the existence of
other human beings. Uli also has the debatable excuse that English is
not his native tongue.)
