Ideally you should use DBAN or a similar tool , but you need access to the
machine for that.

You could try running from a RAM disk (
http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/install-boot-login/453708-running-linux-ramdisk.html)
and then dd the hard disk to your heart's content  (use /dev/random as
source).
