Perhaps just TerminalIDE from the Play store. I don't know about Ruby
but my Transformer has perl, and TerminalIDE's shell with busybox and
many other common utils designed/compiled to cope in the
not-quite-normal Andriod linux environment turns it in to a capable
shell. I installed iwconfig for better wifi diagnostics and one day
plan to sort out some dns tunnelling utils. It doesn't need root and so
is far easier than installing a linux dist.
