[GLLUG] Dual monitors on Ubuntu 14.04 with Gnome

Alright, in the meantine I have wiped out the installation I broke and put
in a fresh one, so I am now back to that square where Nouveau is sluggish.
I just run the Ubuntu upgrade that's proposed post install and did that
apt-get upgrade and reboot. Still sluggish. Googled for this behaviour for
the tenth time, definitely something other people have encountered too, but
no solution as of yet. Will post to Ubuntu formus in the morning.

Strangely, the second monitor seems to be a lot more responsive when System
monitor is on...
