[GLLUG] Audiobook Player and Sleep Timer

Hi everyone,

After moving to Linux on my main day to day laptop from OSX, there's a
couple of tiny things I'm missing.

I was just wondering if any of you had any solutions or knew of any open
source apps that do the same or similar things.

In order of importance:

1) I need an audio player that remembers playback position.

Sometimes audio books are 20 hours long. iTunes has some sort of tagging
method that works really well. SMplayer doesn't seem to do the trick on
audio files. Maybe some sort of podcast player that has this feature or
an extension for an existing player.

2) Music sleep timer

I need something that will pause whatever audio video player is playing
after a set amount of time and then play music again as an alarm. There
is stuff that does the alarm aspect already but not the pause bit.

The proprietary OSX one I was using was very slick and faded out the
music before pausing and then faded it in for the alarm.

I'm currently working on some shell scripts using "at" for this but it'd
be great to have a nice GUI.

Thanks
Leo
