Hi,

For RF transmissions and reception the aerial antenna is far more important
than the tx power.
You can get gains of factors of ten better with a directional antenna, most
often better that increasing the output power by 10x

Wifi is a problem area because everyone uses much the same frequency. I
tend to use wires, and then an wifi access point in each room. This permits
less power and reduces interference.
