Not alot of need for the energetics really.

 Hardly, edit view source in IE or <menu> view source in practically
every other browser on the market, will bypass this javascript.

if its an issue, take your notepad out and view the page that way,
or
 # links -source <site>

there arent many people who actually particularly care if they see the
source or not... it is a website after all.

as regards to data that is rightfully the owners... actually the data
could easily be help copyright (be it intellectual or otherwise) therefore
justifying the addition of the script.

I would suggest that if someone uses java script that does catch right
mouse clicks, that they are not overly serious about people stealing their
property but are however just warding off those who just blatanty steal
code they like.
