Just had a look to double check and any user can mount the drive.

I hate to 'humanise' Linux, but this computer is temperamental! In the last 20 
minutes I have managed to mount it as user but now I can't seem to do a 
darned thing with it.

I have had a normal CD drive in there (different install) and I had both 
drives working, so I am sure sticking it back in would fix the problem, but 
it still leaves an unsolved enigma.
