Thank you for your replie, as I said in my note at the bottom of your post,
I am sorry for the winge
(I was flying on painkillers again).
I  use Linux because, you are allowed to poke around inside, (and you don't
have to pay a fortune for it).
My scanner is a Packard Bell Diamond 1200 plus, and any suggestions would
be very wellcome.
