Hi all.

BRING A BOX DAY - Saturday October 9th 2004

We've had confirmation of our venue from the Discovery Museum. Here are the
details:

Venue:
The People's Gallery,
Ground floor,
Discovery Museum,
Blandford Square

This room is behind the gift shop.

Time:
11am onwards, Saturday October 9th, 2004 (setting up from 11:00 until 12:00)

What:
A room with tables, power and possibly (if we can arrange something) internet
access. People with Linux experience will be on hand to help with
installations of the OS, to help solve problems, to share cool stuff and to
generally make a fuss about Linux.

You don't need to have a problem - you can just bring stuff to show others
your cool Linux setup, things you got working, things you're proud of, etc.

Accessibility:
There are no stairs or lifts between the street outside and the People's
Gallery. There is a car park immediately outside the front door.

What we need:
A couple of volunteers to put a couple of posters up around Tyneside. Get in
touch on the general list if you want to do this.

We'd also like to know if anybody has access to a photocopier for flyers. We
don't have any yet, but the Discovery Museum is prepared to produce a small
number of posters and flyers; we'll need to duplicate them ourselves if we
want more than a handfull.

What we need on the day:
People, and their Linux computers (and anything else they want to attach or
show off). Please try to bring as many peripherals as possible; bring your
own monitor if you have a car. We might be able to have a few spare
monitors, keyboards, mice etc, but can't guarantee that there will be enough.

We will be providing a local area network (both wired and WiFi) for general
use, although whether or not that will have an internet connection remains
to be seen.

Coffee will be available. Hopefully in the room itself, but failing that,
the cafe is open for business as usual.
