Gist of conversion with my work's IT support this morning:

Me: ... The email client will not start ....

Support: .... system problems are already being investigated it
will be fixed soon....

Me: How will I know when you have fixed the problem?

Support: I'll send you an email.

Me: ...excuse me but...

It works both ways.
