[Gloucs] Routers and Hubs an home networking question. Help Please

Hi Ernie,

The short answer is yes, it will work.

You can connect the two devices using an uplink port without a cross
over, or using a standard port with a cross over cable.  All PC's will
get internet and file shares.  Just ensure you disable internet
connection sharing before you install your router (or have the Windows
PC off) as it will be giving out DHCP address's to your clients.  You
will only want your new router to do that.

If you decide you do need a cross over (depending on the ports you
have available) then they should be the same cost as a normal cable.
I can always bring one to the next meeting if your stuck.
