It appears that IPv6 will be upon us in the forseeable future.

I guess I will have to ditch my present NETGEAR WiFi router.

Does anyone have any ideas  how the change will affect FLOSS users?

I am using Debian squeeze.  I would hope that they, of all people will adapt
to the changes.  

To what extent will backward compatibility be possible ?

The mind (well mine anyway)  boggles !
