Hi,
I have a Sony DVDRW, and although it works with nearly all formats, I find
it very slow - slower than my Dad's LG model which I got for about £30.

Hi Noel,
I recently had the same dilemma, I ended up going with a Sony DWD26A
which is compatible with nearly every DVD and CD format (except
DVD-RAM). I'd recommend it (and of course it works in Linux!).
