The DVD from last Thursday has installed OK, so it seems that I will not
have to fiddle about with the above.
Though from boot 2006 seems to take quite a while to load, is that usual?

Thanks for the help.  I forget what sort of DVD your machine uses.  Is it -R
or +R ?
