Hi

I looked at using Zimbra ww.zimbra.com once in the company I work for,
but we went for a different solution. Shame in some ways when you see
what Zimbra is capable of these days.

I mention Zimbra as there is a open source version of their software.
You don't get every bell and whistle, but you get most of the
functionality you require without having to go with the commercial version.

I also wanted to plug a new service that the ISP we use,
(www.openia.com) are trialling - a full hosted Zimbra service.

I had a play with the system, and was mightily impressed with the ease
of use, the ajax interface and the quick response :- it really was like
using a standalone local application. Might you I'm told that Openia
have a dual quad Xeon set of processors, effectively an 8 core setup
server, so pretty hefty hardware behind it.

I hope this doesn't come across as advertising, but I wanted to bring to
people's attention that you can get hosted solutions such as this in the
UK, though sadly not from Herefordshire itself as yet.

Also Openia don't yet have anything on their website advertising this
service, but I'm sure they will in due course.

Cheers

Julian
