[HLUG] Linux install problems

Hello everyone, I wanted to install Ubuntu on my laptop but hit problems
when the install cd was booting. the screen went black and didn't come back
on. this thread...

...explains what to do, but it is way too technical for me. i was wondering
if someone would help me install it at the next meeting?
