[HLUG] Bootable CD with SSH access

Hi,

Have you tried downloading an 8.10 ISO and booting into recovery mode?
I have used the recovery in Ubuntu, and it gives you several options to
get yourself out of a mess. Obviously, if video isn't working in the
BIOS then this won't help either.

FWIW I upgraded to 8.10 server the other day using the
do-release-upgrade scripts, I have nothing much on the server apart from
a test Postfix/Spamassassin/Amavis setup which I am doing some
development work with, and a working Apache/PHP/Wordpress/Subversion
setup.

Andrew.

Subject: [HLUG] Bootable CD with SSH access

Hello all,

I upgraded my home server to Ubuntu 8.10 last week but ever since then
it hasn't been booting to the point where I can access it over SSH. I
can ping it but not get into it. I connected it up to 2 different
monitors today and they both said "Unsupported video mode". I think
something is broken in the video card somewhere. Anyway, does anyone
know of a bootable linux CD that will bring up SSH? Then at least I
can access some of the info...

Alex
