[HLUG] World Software Freedom Day - Coming soon

Hi

I just wanted to know if there was any discussions/decision, thoughts, 
plans considered at the August Meeting as I wasnt able to come. As part 
of Pete's suggestion, I have signed us up here

*I think we will have to have an early September mtg dedicated to 
getting this setup (possibly Sept 9th ?).

We need to consider the following :-

    * *What are we going to try and achieve on the day?*
    * *Are we going to try installing Linux etc for members of the
      public or is this too risky ?*
    * *We have a venue at least (subject to confirmation) :- Cookies in
      Leominster, which is in the town centre, so we can get some
      footfall, especially earlier on in the day.*
    * We also need some publicity material; I have some friends at BBC
      H&W, so we *could* possibly get some a piece on there. Local
      papers too ?**
    * *We need to get some Linux and Open Source PC's and laptops etc
      setup for demos*
    * *I have quite a lot of Ubuntu and Open Suse packaged cd's which is
      a good start, but we are unfortunately too late to get any free
      Software Freedom Day goodies.*

So, lots to do !! I can't do it all on my own .. Like everyone else I 
have a lot of requirements of my time, like family, work, etc. So we 
need to put a team together to spread the load.

Overall this should be fun ;-) !!

So please, reply to this email if you're interested, and what you can 
help with and we can take it from there. We can also get some 
(semi-private) pages setup on our website to help get it organised.
