[HLUG] installing Ubuntu 8.04

Hi Roy

Firstly, I must apologise. Your email came from an email address which
isnt subscribed to our mailing list (perhaps you used a different email
address?), so it went through the spam trap instead. Also, I've been
away for 3 days seeing family, so had limited Net access and missed this
one the first time around.

If you got a 'C:/ prompt' its not a Linux one, its still running
Windows, so I think somehow your pc isnt booting off the CD properly, or
more likely that Ubuntu got half installed and didnt install the Linux
and Windows boot loader properly.

Can you give us a bit more detail on what exactly happened after you put
the cd in the drive please ?

Lastly, I have some Ubuntu 8.10 CD's if you want a newer one. Also, for
anyone else wanting a new Ubuntu 8.10 CD, please reply and I'll get one
to you.
