I've been using 64bit Gentoo for a few years now. I'm quite happy with
it, I only got 2 major issues with the 64bit.
The first is, as you have noticed as well, adobe flash. Every now and
then it 'crashes', just not playing anything, no error message.
Sometimes it helps disabling my flashblock plugin in Firefox, but not
always. Usually I re-emerge it. I tried emerging it with 32, 64bit or
both USE-flags enabled, makes no difference. Never found a solution to
it, stopped searching a while back. Not sure though wether 64bit or
Gentoo issue, but rather think 64bit.

The other issue is my epson scanner. The driver only comes as 32bit,
and is absolutely not running under 64. Had to setup a 32bit chroot
environment, which works fine. Once set up the only pain is that you
have to update two systems (esp on gentoo), if you need the 32 chroot
up to date. And that I haven't figured out how to save the scans in
directory 'above' the / of the chroot environment. Means I got to move
them by hand.

Not on my Gentoo - see above. Basically no difference on my machine.

Suits my needs fine - bit of of latex/ office stuff, photography and
other basic image work, multimedia, few games.
Issues - as above virtually only (epson) scanner (solved) and flash
(not solved).
