Hi Rick

If you like I have a special USB install that means you can boot from the USB stick and test out a full install without installing to the system drives. It is a little bit like a cross between a live CD or Tuxedu Live USB and a full hard drive install. Might not be ideal for hard video work as the disk capacity and I/O is limited but it will give you a good approximation of a proper install without affecting your underlying system at all.
