Hi George, I have no problem switching to yahoo groups if you are able to set it up and manage it etc - I used google because I already have a few google groups and know how to set them up etc - perhap we should discuss this at the meeting next week - let the majority decide etc...

Google groups arent half as good as yahoo groups in my opinion.
I'm in lots of yahoo groups and know how to moderate , administer etc.

Hi Peter, as I am already currently CRB checked at the RNCB do I need to do it again? Tony.

Subject: [HLUG] CRB checks

Dear Hluggers,

In preparation for our schools outreach work in the autumn I am tasked
with enabling CRB checks for participants. HCC are presently doing these
checks for volunteers in the county for free.

I need to know within a couple of days how many members would like to be
checked so that I can order up the forms before our meeting next week.
It is a paper exercise only, but a responsible person has to verify the
ID of each individual. It therefore is required for anyone wanting to be
in this to present recognised ID at the meeting when they pick up the forms.

If we can manage this on Wednesday, the process takes between 2 and 8
weeks- so at the outer end we will be just in time for the October
dates. If you cannot make the meeting but want to be 'in' it will be up
to you to arrange verification of your ID and collect the forms. Who and
where from remain to be confirmed.

Any questions answered here.

Tony - I have a recent CRB (under 12 months old ) so should not need one
and I would think your RNCB one should be fine unless it was done ages

We have one every two years approximately, it is the 'extended' version as well as we work with vulnerable adults...

that's fine then - anyone else who has not got one or has one that is
older than 2 yrs as a max and thinks they may want to be involved in
working with the schools should come to the meeting
Pete can you just clarify what ID is needed so people bring the right ID
into the meeting - I think they are quite specific

For the purpose of formal identification I would expect the standard
formats would be a photo ID issued by a trusted Govt dept or agency (
drivers license, passport CIS card etc) and an address locator such as a
bank statement or utility bill. Those wishing to take up this offer need
to make sure to bring these to the meeting to be verified by Tony.

To confirm, I need to know by Sunday evening the number of forms to
order to ensure we get them by Wednesday.
