[HLUG] Tuxdedu 2.0

Hi Guys, I have managed to prevent NTFS write permissions on Tuxedu, which will prevent damage on the vast majority of Windows machines running XP, Vista and 7 - the only machines at risk would be ones with FAT32 partitions (Windows 95, 98, ME and some very early XP machines). However I have also experimented with Debian LXDE instead of Lubuntu and this locks absolutely everything down (including USB drives and printers etc) it also produces a much smaller and faster system - without the games it is only 398MB - so it might be easier to make the 'Live and Secure' version using Debian - might even fit on a CD, and use Lubuntu to produce an installable version. I think it will be easier to 'unlock' Debian for USB and Printer access than lock down everything in Lubuntu - as as we are not enabling wireless or providing 3D applications we don't need any drivers that Ubuntu contains but Debian doesn't...

Anyway I will continue to experiment, the Lubuntu version is pretty much ready to go as is (need to check pulseaudio for scratch) and will post a Debian version once I get one running.

Tony.
